Rare instrument!  Erik has not been making these whistles for quite some time.  This is the first time we've seen one surface here!

Description from Erik "Tully" Tullberg

This whistle is designed for soft solo play (tested on my napping 2 year old). It also works well with quieter accompaniment such as guitar or dulcimer. Despite its lower volume it maintains a round pleasant sound. Also good for not standing out in a session (though beware - you can still be heard).

It does not require much air volume to fill but does require good breath control for consistent intonation.

The primary material for both the head joint and the body is sterling silver. Sterling silver is an alloy of approximately 93% pure silver and 7% copper and is the material of choice for silversmiths around the world. Sterling takes a beautiful polish and is also much stronger than ordinary silver.

While I don't recommend using your Tully Whistle as a bodhran tipper or a baseball bat, it certainly does not need to be babied. It is perfectly happy in a whistle bag alongside your other whistles.

The fipple is made from stabilized wood. This material has proven superior against a number of varying climates - from extremely wet to extremely dry.
