The head joint is ivory with a nickel cap and ferrule, set against a rosewood body. It is beautifully made, and the keywork is a cut above the ordinary for a flute of this kind.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe instrument is complete and wants an overhaul rather than a rescue. The head joint needs its liner pulled and reseated and its crack sealed, the barrel needs a crack seal, and the pads are due for full replacement. The crack in the ivory head runs lengthwise and does not pass through the embouchure.
