A favorite with modern flutemakers who have noted there is a feeling of musicality (ie they "play") in his flutes, Peloubet's flutes are carefully made and have a wonderful response. With finger holes on the small size, this flute prefers a more artful and nuanced kind of playing, rather than just "blasting" away. Patrick Olwell told me he had altered the tuning slightly, and done a little voicing on the embouchure and some re-reaming. A new barrel of nitric acid stained cocus wood and two newly made rings of mammoth ivory, silver keys, plays well at 440.
