Chris Abell Blackwood & Silver, C w/Thumb Hole

A lovely whistle with a distinctive feature. The tone is rich and centered, with an almost flute-like quality that sets Abell whistles apart. The combination of African Blackwood and sterling silver is central to Abell's design philosophy, chosen to deliver a strong, centered, rich tone through two full octaves.

This C whistle includes a thumb hole for the top hand, giving direct access to the flat seventh degree, Bb. That note is of course available by cross-fingering on any whistle, but the thumb hole puts it right under the hand cleanly and with good tone, which is a genuine practical advantage in keys and tunes that lean on it.

The Blackwood body provides a clear articulate tone while maintaining structural durability, and the sterling silver hardware includes a tuning slide that allows pitch adjustment without compromising tone quality.
