A large hole Rudall and Rose model D flute made by John Gallagher in 2024, made from clear-grained Sonoran desert ironwood. The flute has 9 keys total, including the long Bb; keys are bronze. The long Bb touch can be removed if preferred. Includes a Northwind hard case.

This is a powerful instrument with excellent tuning.

Sonoran desert ironwood of this quality—straight and clear-grained—is exceptionally rare today. Tonally, it delivers characteristics similar to cocus, and many players consider it more stable and less prone to cracking.
