Pol Jézéquel is a Breton maker whose flutes rank among the very best of the modern makers, though his limited output means they rarely appear on the used market. This keyless Delrin model is loud, powerful, and plays in tune with minimal air requirements, producing a surprisingly woody tone. The hole size is medium to medium-small, yet the power and energy this instrument produces is impressive - a great option for players with smaller hands who still want a strong, session-worthy flute. The metal tuning slide works smoothly and all sockets fit well. In excellent condition, the flute comes with a Boehm customized case and cork grease, though the tenons are not cork-lapped and don't require it.
Of note: Pol no longer produces keyed Delrin flutes like the one Kevin Crawford plays, as he found the material takes as long as wood to finish properly. His current waiting list for keyless flutes is approximately one year or more.
