Condition: Restored by Patrick Olwell - Some reaming and fine tuning to open the tone of the flute up a bit and improve intonation.
This Guichard's sterling silver keywork is hall marked for 1838. Head tube and barrel are silver plated. Barrel is original cocus but was sanded for repair (repaired crack). Before Pat received it, the previous repairer expertly cut a modern embouchure and opened up F# a bit to improve the tuning. Pat says that "this flute has all the tone and nuance of wonderful sounding wooden flute without the difficulty of the F/F# on Baroque flutes. - this is French flute art at it's highest" which you can see by the detail work on the capped tenons, lined sockets and exquisite key work which work great all the way down to low C.
