Condition: Restored Antique in Good Condition (crack repair shown in last picture)
At the time this instrument would have been made, boxwood flutes sold for about 1/2 the price of cocus. Now, boxwood is highly regarded for its energetic response. A good boxwood flute will vibrate in your hands while playing (hint, this one does). This restoration by Patrick Olwell, plays great. It is surprisingly in tune at A440 (slide out about 1/2"). We weren't expecting as much power from this small holed French flute (Pat's reboring & retuning must have something to do with it ;). Though not the best choice for a large & rowdy session, this would sit well in smaller musical gatherings. Would also suit the Boehm or Baroque system player looking to get into simple system playing.
