American-made (Connecticut) 19th-century English-style wooden flute by G.N. Munger. Features bore and hole spacing/sizing suitable for players with small to medium hands. The flute plays at A=440 with the head joint extended 5/8 of an inch.
This flute has a nice smooth bore and smooth finish, with small holes that produce a pretty quiet, mellow tone—well-suited for a kitchen duet or playing around the house.
Condition notes: Several repaired hairline cracks are present and have been sealed:
- Head joint: one visible crack on top, one on back
- Barrel: at least one visible repaired crack
- Right-hand section: hairline crack sealed on socket side
- Left-hand section: no visible cracks
