About the Maker
Colin "Hammy" Hamilton was born in Belfast in 1953, moved to Cork in 1976, and in 1979 set up one of the first flute workshops in Ireland, and one of the first devoted to flutes made specifically for Irish music. He is the author of The Irish Flute Player's Handbook. His order book has been closed since 2018, though he still makes a small number of flutes and takes on restorations.
