1-Key F Flute

$14999
Condition: Parts/Not-Working

Sold as-is for restoration. This is a fine candidate for someone with the skills or connections to bring a genuine 19th-century instrument back into playing condition. The flute is a small-bore alto instrument in F, believed to date from around 1840, with a sounding length of 425mm. The instrument carries a hairline crack in the socket of the head joint, as well as tape residue on the left-hand and right-hand sections from previous quick attempts to seal/stabilize said cracks. These areas will require proper attention before the flute can be played. This flute is consistent with Old Philharmonic Pitch, the British standard of the 19th century, and is estimated to play at roughly A452 when restored to playing condition.
