The Viper is regarded as the most powerful and loudest of Burke's Low D models, with a big, full low end and good balance between the octaves. The second octave is readily accessible with moderate breath pressure.
The Viper uses a tuning slide that moves on rubber O-rings, allowing easy pitch adjustment. The aluminum model features a Delrin-tipped mouthpiece, which helps manage condensation in the windway during extended playing. All Burke whistles also feature a curved windway, which further helps disperse moisture.
