A really nice player with easy response across both octaves. The tone is clear with strong projection, and the second octave speaks readily without fuss.
This is a pre-serial number example, placing it among the earlier instruments from Copeland's workshop. It carries the classic shamrock insignia engraved on the head. The brass body has a nice brushed finish to it, showing some character consistent with age and use.
Copeland whistles have long enjoyed a strong reputation among Irish traditional musicians. These handcrafted brass whistles are no longer in production, which has only added to their desirability among players who appreciate their distinctive voice and responsiveness.
