This 8-key conical bore flute, made in Austria around 1880, is crafted from grenadilla wood with German silver ferrules. It features eight German silver keys with steel springs.

A well-crafted flute with medium to medium-small finger holes and a slight offset for holes 3 and 6, making it a great option for players with smaller hands. It offers good resonance and power, comparable to a Rudall-type flute with similar hole sizing. Intonation is excellent throughout, and it plays at A440 with the slide extended about 1/4".

Professionally restored in November 2008 by A&D Music, the overhaul included a full cleaning and oiling of the body, removal and buffing of all silver components, and replacement of all pads and corks. No case is included.
