A cedar Native American style flute in F, with a low, rich tone and good overall condition. There are a few minor surface marks consistent with light handling, but the instrument presents very well.

The fipple-style construction is traditional to the Native American flute form, with cedar contributing to the characteristically warm, resonant quality in the lower register. Tuning is solid and the voice is expressive and responsive across the range.

About the Maker

David Wolfs Robe is an accomplished artist, flute maker, performer, and recording artist. He began hand crafting flutes in 1984 as an apprentice to an experienced flute maker and has since developed his own distinctive approach to construction. His work stems from a commitment to the preservation of the Native American flute as well as his own ancestral connections, and has been credited with helping to keep alive the art of traditional flute music. He performs regularly at venues including the Grand Canyon National Park, Chaco Canyon National Park, Devils Tower National Monument, and Badlands National Park, as well as museums, libraries, and resorts across the country. He is a two-time Native American Music Award (NAMA) nominee.
