A compact single-reed folk instrument in the chalumeau family, the forerunner of the clarinet. Pitched in C, it pairs a clarinet-style mouthpiece and reed with a short wooden body, in a size that slips easily into a bag. The body has seven finger holes on the front, the lowest two doubled, and a thumb hole on the back.
There are hairline cracks in the body, which have been sealed with thin cyanoacrylate. Apart from the cracks the instrument is unplayed new old stock, marked with the Hahl name on the body.
Fitted with a RICC mouthpiece, ligature and reed, and it comes with the mouthpiece cap, spare reeds, a cleaning rod and a zip case.
