Rosewood Antique Piccolo

This piccolo is being sold as is, but it has good bones and shows real promise. Even in its current state, it plays reasonably well and gives a clear sense of the tonal quality waiting to come out once it's been properly overhauled.

The head joint has a crack that would need attention; a proper repair would likely involve removing the outer silver and inner brass liner. The barrel also has a hairline crack that appears to have been sealed at some point. The keys are in good shape overall, though the instrument could benefit from a repad and general cleanup. There is some air leakage due to the head joint crack, but even playing through that, the instrument responds with enough character to suggest it will be a genuinely good player after restoration. We can recommend a tech for the work if needed.

The maker is unidentified. No markings have been found to attribute it to a specific workshop, and the date of manufacture is uncertain.

Comes with a nice handmade wooden case.
