Terry McGee is a flute maker based in Malua Bay, New South Wales, Australia, who has been making flutes since the mid-1970s and is well known for his research into 19th-century flute design. His 5088 model is based on a Rudall & Rose original with large tone holes.
This blackwood and silver 5088 was made and acquired directly from the maker in 2024 and is single-owner. The head joint is unlined with a traditional embouchure cut. Comes with the original case provided by the maker and an airtight outer bag for humidity control. No cracks.
These 5088s play like a well-rounded Rudall: plenty of power, comfortable to hold, and responsive across the range.
