An even, woodsy tone with nice tuning across the range. This one suits a player after warmth and evenness rather than sheer volume, and it stays comfortable over a long evening.
Blackwood with brass fittings. The rings have been polished in house and look handsome against the dark wood. The headjoint carries the maker's mark, stamped "Copeland Philadelphia" with a quatrefoil between the words.
Previous repairs, both well executed, include a sealed hairline crack in the barrel and a new brass ferrule on the lower tenon of the midsection.
