National Reso-Phonic RM-1 Resonator Mandolin with Hot-Plate

A resonator mandolin built around a single hand-spun 9.5 inch cone with a maple biscuit bridge. The body takes a symmetrical A-style outline, widened to make room for the cone, in walnut with a figured maple top, with an ebony fingerboard and an art deco cast tailpiece.

Fitted with National's Hot-Plate, a passive pickup built around a Lollar single coil with volume and tone controls, mounted under an antique brass coverplate. The standard acoustic coverplate is included as well, so the instrument can be returned to purely acoustic form whenever you like.

Excellent condition and clearly very well cared for. Strung with Thomastik-Infeld flatwounds and supplied in its original hard shell case.

About the Maker

National Reso-Phonic builds resonator instruments in San Luis Obispo, California, carrying forward the resonator designs of the 1920s and 1930s. The RM-1 mandolin joined the line in 2005 and has been built in small numbers since.
