A pure, clear, almost glass-like voice, which is what O'Riordan whistles are known for. It plays beautifully and speaks readily.
Made in 2001 and marked F1-643, with an ebonite body and an aluminum tuning slide and accent rings. Owned from new by a single player, and played regularly over the years rather than left in a case.
In excellent condition, with some tarnish on the accent rings and a small scratch on the end ring.
About the Maker
Patrick O'Riordan worked from a garage workshop in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and came to be regarded as one of the premier whistle makers in the world. He held that the mouthpiece was the heart of the instrument, and his whistles are prized for a pure, bell-like clarity. No more of them will be made.
