A 6-key flute with a sweet, responsive voice and a nicely cut embouchure. The head joint is marked LP for low pitch, and when the flute is cold with the head joint pushed all the way in, it plays at roughly A=440.
This is not a powerhouse. The finger holes are on the small side, so it is better suited to performance with a small group, solo playing and quieter rooms than to louder sessions.
A sizable crack on the back of the head joint and a crack in the barrel have both been sealed. The pads look to be in good condition, and the foot end cap carries a few small dings, ordinary for a flute of this vintage.
"Nach Meyer" is not a maker's name but a model designation, German for "after Meyer."
