Very light in the hands and very easy on the air, with a quiet to moderate voice and a genuinely sweet tone. The attention to detail in the workmanship, the intonation and the tuning is everything you would expect from a Burke.
The body is carbon composite, a material Michael Burke worked in for a period before moving on. This is an early example, made in 1999. Carbon Burkes come through the shop now and then in the higher pitches; a carbon low D is another matter, and this is only the second one we've ever seen.
The composite line has not been made for many years, so examples turn up only on the secondhand market.
