• Pitches: Carbony's highland bagpipe chanters are available in concert-A (440 Hz), Bb (466 Hz), and in "competition" pitch, (around 476 Hz).  Keep in mind: in some cases, chanter reeds made to play at these pitches may be necessary to get these chanters to produce the desired pitch.  Many reed makers have "Bb," and/or "A," or, "Concert-Pitch," options.  Regarding practice chanters: please keep in mind that much of the pitch produced by a practice chanter depends upon the reed used.  The, "competition pitch," practice chanters are designed to play around the same pitch most practice chanters play.  The, "A," practice chanters are designed to play at concert-A pitch, (440 Hz,) but must be paired with an appropriate practice chanter reed to achieve this.

• Practice Chanter Holes: Some practice chanters feature counter-bored finger holes.  Some players prefer this over standard finger holes because they feel more like a GHB chanter.  This is because the size of the counter-bored area around each hole is about the same as the finger hole size of GHB chanters.
