Casey Burns Blackwood and Silver 2-key Low A Flute

A beautiful, warm, and woody instrument in as-new condition. The tone is rich and resonant, notably mellow in character, with a strong fundamental in the low register. A low flute rewards a light touch and a relaxed embouchure; the instrument opens up beautifully once a player settles into it. Because the pitch sits a perfect fourth below a standard D flute, the body is proportionally longer, and Burns made deliberate ergonomic choices in finger hole placement to keep the stretch manageable for players of average hand size. The body is blackwood with silver keywork. The two keys are a short C key (the minor-third key, equivalent to the short F on a D flute) and a Bb key (equivalent to Eb on a D flute), each with a touch on the right-hand side. A new spring has been fitted to the short C key. Condition is exceptional throughout, essentially as new.
