A beautiful, sweet tone with nice resonance and good tuning. It has plenty of voice for a session, and it is just as much at home playing on its own.
The body is mopane with silver rings. The flute is in excellent shape, with no cracks and no history of repair, and it comes with a padded soft case.
About the Maker
Casey Burns made flutes for Irish and other traditional music in Kingston, Washington, from 1981. His designs drew on the acoustical models of 19th-century makers including Rudall & Rose, Boosey and Prowse, and each flute was made from carefully selected tonewoods. He stopped taking orders in December 2020 and no longer makes flutes.
