Chris Wilkes was renowned for crafting some of the finest modern Rudall-style flutes, and this example is no exception. It delivers the classic Rudall tone—clear and bright yet strong and focused—with excellent intonation.
A couple of fine hairline cracks in the barrel and on the underside of the headjoint have been sealed, neither affecting its performance. As of late 2024, Chris Wilkes is no longer making flutes, and even before then, his waiting list had extended beyond 10 years—a testament to the high demand and admiration for his work.
