Modeled after a Firth, Pond & Co. flute similar to the one played by Grey Larsen, this Delrin flute offers strong resonance and projection while remaining accessible to players with smaller hands. It features a rounded rectangle embouchure, providing a focused, responsive tone ideal for Irish traditional music. Made from Delrin—a low-maintenance alternative to tonewoods like African Blackwood—this flute requires minimal upkeep. Pitched in D. Includes soft case.
Review from a happy customer!
I was struggling to learn on a traditional Pratten style flute, also in delrin, so was questioning the little voice that said "get this one, quick!" I'm so glad I did. And thank you for the description that convinced me to do so. The Galeón is exactly what I need. It requires much less air to fill, and even as a rank beginner I'm getting lovely tone from it. The ability to turn the bottom joint just 1-2mm toward my right hand allows me to work within my more limited range of motion after healing from broken wrists. My struggle with the first flute was partially due to its traditional build and heavier weight, and partially to wrist strain. I'd recommend this flute to anyone who needs lighter weight, the ability to adjust right and left hand sections separately, and smaller tone holes for easier sealing. Thank you again for making this flute available!
