This beautiful French flute, made from cocus wood and nickel silver, features lined sockets and an unlined headjoint. Despite its smaller holes, it delivers impressive energy and power. The finely cut embouchure responds quickly. It plays well at modern pitch (A440Hz) with the slide extended about 1/4", maintaining excellent intonation. Vent the F natural key while playing F# for optimal pitch. The low D is particularly strong, thanks to a reverse taper in the short foot.
