This one has that extra bit of energy running through it from the bottom D all the way up. The bottom D is strong without being hard work, and the upper octave stays easy to reach and sweet, true and clear. Among the better examples of Schultz's wooden work to come through the shop.
The body is turned wood with nickel fittings and a tuning slide at the head.
About the Maker
The late/great Glenn A. Schultz Sr. worked out of Oxford, Michigan under the Thin Weasel Woodwinds name. The Water Weasel was his PVC model and the Thin Weasel the wooden version of the same design. He built a devoted following among traditional players and mentored fellow whistle maker Paul Busman.
