Lowden Guitars F-25c East Indian Rosewood & Red Cedar

$4,96500
Condition: New

The Lowden 25 has long been considered the quintessential Lowden, the model George Lowden built his reputation on. This F25c, serial 29278, is new for 2026 and pairs the medium-sized F body with a Venetian cutaway and the 25 series' classic voicing: an East Indian rosewood back and sides under a Red Cedar soundboard.

The F body is the more focused and articulate of Lowden's shapes, with a strong, direct projection that suits fingerstyle, flatpicking, and strumming equally well. Combined with Lowden's modified A-frame bracing, it delivers the even, responsive voice the workshop is known for, and the cutaway opens up easy access to the upper frets.

Red Cedar is a warm, highly touch-sensitive soundboard wood. It responds immediately to a light right hand, drawing volume and color out of quiet passages, and carries a warmer, rounder character than spruce. Beneath it, East Indian rosewood adds deep, resonant lows and bright, sparkling trebles with a gently scooped midrange, giving the guitar long sustain and a complex, overtone-rich response. The pairing is warm and full at its core while staying crisp and defined on top.

Ideal for

Fingerstyle, flatpicking, and strumming.

Tone profile

Warm and full-bodied, with deep lows, clear sparkling highs, long sustain, and excellent touch sensitivity.
