The tone carries the classic character of boxwood: clear and warm, with the flexibility to be played sweetly or with real strength depending on the player's approach. Response is immediate across all registers. The bottom D speaks with real strength and authority, and the upper register follows. The Nicholson-sized tone holes give the flute presence and volume to hold its own in a session. This is a particularly lively instrument: at full tilt, it buzzes in the hands!
