Pat Olwell Restored Robert Wolf & Co. Cocus & Silver 8-Key

$3,19999
Condition: Used - Excellent

A fine example from Robert Wolf & Co., circa 1840—successor to Gerock and Wolf—restored by Pat Olwell. Made of cocus wood with silver keys, this flute features smaller tone holes (hole 4 measures 7.5mm), offering a focused tone and quick, responsive playing feel. Ideal for those with smaller hands or anyone who prefers the agility and tonal qualities of smaller-holed flutes.

The original head and barrel remain free of cracks. The right-hand socket was repaired with a wooden sleeve to address a crack that extends between holes 4 and 5; consistent humidity around 55% is advised for long-term stability. Pat re-tuned and re-bored the flute and lightly finished the already well-cut, full-size embouchure. The two foot keys seal tightly and play very well.

A well-balanced, historically significant instrument with excellent playability and a careful, informed restoration.
