A clean, focused tone and an instrument in excellent playing order. It plays close to A=442 once warmed through, sitting slightly flat of that when cold.
A true alto in F with Baroque fingering and double holes at the foot for the lower semitones. Three pieces with cork-lapped tenons, turned from a light golden hardwood, with a leather cord tied at the foot joint.
About the Maker
The Fehr workshop was founded in 1950 and built its reputation on handmade wooden recorders in a range of model series, from plainer student instruments up to finely figured hardwoods. Fehr recorders are known among players for careful voicing and reliable intonation.
