Moderately to strongly voiced, and yet it plays easily and does not ask much air. Response is quick and tuning is excellent throughout. A thoroughly capable low D.
The head joint is maple, and the timber adds a wonderful live resonance to the instrument. Reyburn made these maple heads for a period and then moved to Delrin. He has since retired from whistle making altogether, so neither is available new.

Ronaldo Reyburn built whistles to order over many years, working in brass, aluminum and maple, and earned a reputation among players for efficient, focused head joints and dependable intonation.
