An 1867 system flute by Rudall Carte & Co. in cocus wood with silver keywork. Richard Carte's 1867 patent combined Boehm's cylindrical bore with a modified fingering system intended to ease the transition for players coming from the simple-system flute. Mint condition with no cracks and all original French polish intact. The headjoint features a silver tube—uncommon for these instruments, which more often had nickel tubes even when fitted with silver keywork. Original embouchure.
Repadded at some point but not professionally seated; plays down to bottom C but would benefit from professional attention. A pristine example for the collector or player willing to have it properly set up.
