8 double-spung silver keys.  Pewter plugs on Eb/C#/C.

Wide rings.

Unusually large head tube (19.2mm vs 18.8mm) with tall chimney height on embouchure (thicker head tube).

Larger bore than normal.

Nicholson type hole sizes.  #4 is 4.9mm

Plays in tune with great energy at A440.  No flat foot syndrome.  Foot keys work really well all the way down to low C. Strong bottom D.

Original headjoint plays great thanks to Patrick's slight opening/improving. 

Restoration work included:

  • Repaired socket cracks
  • Repaired head and barrel cracks
  • Embouchure slightly opened up & improved.
  • Slight tuning work. (Tuning is superb!)
