Rudall & Rose No. 5085 — Cocuswood, Silver Keys, Patent Head

A Rudall & Rose eight-keyed flute in cocuswood with silver keys, fitted with a patent headjoint. The flute was in good overall condition prior to restoration, with all original sections, keyblocks, and components intact.

The flute has been fully restored by renowned maker and restorer Colin Hamilton. The patent head had a crack from a prior superficial repair — Colin pulled the liner for a proper restoration and did extensive work on the patent mechanism, including remaking some components. All joints have been re-threaded, keys repadded, and the instrument thoroughly cleaned. The original case has also been restored.

The headjoint/barrel combination seals fully. The flute speaks easily and cleanly down to low C. Sounding length is 582mm. 

All original, fully restored, and ready to play.
