Rudall, Rose, Carte & Co. Cocus and Silver 8-Key Flute, Serial Number 6111, in D. This is the classic Nicholson model 8-key flute made by this established firm, constructed from cocus wood with silver keys. Strong, powerful tone with keys that work well all the way down to low C.
The flute has been repaired for cracks in the head joint and barrel. These repairs are well executed but the instrument requires attentive care during maintenance. The wood should not be allowed to dry out excessively, as this can affect the integrity of the repaired areas.
Plays with good tuning at A440 with the headjoint extended 3/4".
The flute comes with its original case.
