A nice clean player that takes very little air. Whorfin whistles sound pure with a touch of chiff to the edge of the tone, and they are nicely balanced through the octaves both in ease of play and in volume.
The body is pearwood, fitted with brass ferrules and a tuning slide. The serial number 72 is stamped underneath the head joint. A soft pouch is included.
About the Maker
Whorfin whistles are made by hand by Charlie Tarrio, loosely based on the work of Glenn Schultz and Chris Abell with influences from Phil Bleazey, Jon Swayne and Michael Grinter, and a few touches of his own.
