This six-key piccolo in D is offered as a restoration project. The body is in good structural condition, but the instrument requires a full re-pad and overhaul before it can be played. The barrel and head joint are cracked and will need attention as part of any restoration, and the tuning slide is seized.

The maker's mark reads "Burns / Belfast." It is worth noting that, as was common practice during the 19th century, such a stamp may reflect the music shop or dealer through which the instrument was sold rather than the craftsman who actually made it. The true maker is not currently known. No further documentation has been identified regarding Burns of Belfast.
